Farrell TV30 Amp

The TV30 amp is born... DC30 style amp with two channels, one standard and one using a 12au7 as a cascode to emulate a pentode tone without the usual EF86 problems, Celestion Alnico Gold and lighted up panels!

Farrell Sea Monster

Introducing the Farrell Sea Monster, boasting High Gain Marshall JCM800 tones with added resonance control, tube buffered FX loop, slave output and the ability to mute the power section of the amp to use the preamp with additional power amplifier.

Farrell Knight

The Farrell Knight is our second tube amp model. American voiced preamp with reverb coupled with with a push-pull 30 watt power amp in a combo with a 15" eminence legend speaker. Big bottom end cleans without flabbyness, great deep reverb that is independent from the volume control.
Specs:
Pre-amp: American voiced preamp with three band eq, reverb and bright switch.
Power Amp: American voiced power amp using 7591A power tubes for approximately 30 watts of output power. The 7591A is classicaly used on vintage Ampeg guitar amps; it is similarly voiced as a 6v6 but with uprated power.

Farrell Valiant 12

The Valiant 12 is our first tube amp model. American voiced preamp coupled with a single ended 12 watt power amp to get you to sonic heaven. Great cleans with some breakup for the blues player. Reverb with dwell and footswitch control (on the back).
Specs:
Pre-amp: American voiced preamp with three band eq and reverb.
Power Amp: American voiced 12 watt single ended power amp utilizing a 6l6GC power tube. Other tube choices for different sounds include: El34, KT-66, KT-77, KT-88, 6CA7 without modification.

Blues Jr Conversion

The Fender Blues Jr is a great practice and gigging amp because of its light weight, 1 12" speaker configuration and approximately 20  Watts of power its able to get loud enough for practice and live situations (when mic'd). It's like the missing link between a Princeton and a Deluxe, but cheaper and in a smaller package.

Many of the old Fender Blues Jr's, however, suffer from overheating issues; because the tubes are hanging down all heat rises to the chassis which is not ventilated. Since its a Printed Circuit Board amp (PCB) the heat cycling (cold to hot, hot to cold) of normal use will eventually cause the PCB to fail. Some earlier U.S. made units had PCB issues related to traces lifting and become unrepairable. Since its a relatively cheap amp, most people just store them away and don't use them anymore.

At Farrell Amplification, we developed a way to resurrect the Fender Blues Jr!! We completely gut the chassis and retain only the power switch, power transformer and output transformer, then we build a point-to-point turret-board based amp and modify the circuit and chassis to accommodate a tube-based reverb. The results are fantastic and in the end, you get a hand made amp, point-to-point rivaling boutique style amps for the fraction of the cost. The amp becomes better sounding (more three-dimensional), more reliable than PCB and easier to fix (all is mounted from the top, no more PCB removal).
We also offer tone change mods (to make it sound more british), power tube mods (to change to 6V6 power tubes for a more american sound).

Farrell Amps Montclair

The Montclair is a very unique amplifier with a sound that can go from clean to raunchy just by changing the attack on your strings! Features:
  • 6u8 Pentode/Triode based preamp with the Pentode providing the main gain and the Triode used as a cathode follower to drive the tone stack (alá Marshall).
  • Cathodyne (concertina) phase inverter system, similar to the Princeton
  • 15 Watts via EL84 power tubes
The sound is bright and jangly with a bit of grit, to full on distortion, very responsive to guitar pickups and the picking strength!!!
